Following reduced customer activity, Baltikums Bank has made a decision to reorganise its operations and applied for the relevant permit with the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC). According to the plan, the Bank’s Cyprus Branch will be restructured as a representative office. Until the CBC permit is received, the Bank will continue to service all customer transactions as previously. The branch is expected to continue operations until 31 August 2013. Following receipt of the CBC permit, in accordance with the procedure specified in the applicable legislation, all customers will be offered the option of closing their accounts with the branch and transferring the funds to other banks or to their account with the Bank’s Head Office in Riga. Customers of the branch who do not hold accounts with the Head Office may have such accounts opened upon request.
According to current plans, Baltikums Bank in will subsequently operate in Cyprus via representative office. Customers will be advised and serviced by Customer Relations Directors.
