Marble Security Launches Enterprise Mobile Security Service

Patented approach secures iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, and PC devices for $3 per user

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 21, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marble Security, Inc. today announced the release of its new cloud-based mobile security service that proactively protects the mobile perimeter of an enterprise against cyberattacks and data loss before breaches can occur. Marble is available immediately for iOS, Android, Mac OS X, and Windows, and secures all of a user's devices for only $3 per month. The company targets medium to large enterprises seeking a comprehensive, easy-to-manage, and affordable mobile security service.

Marble's mobile security is particularly relevant and targeted for companies adopting and attempting to manage multi-platform, bring your own device (BYOD) programs. In a recent Gartner survey, 38 percent of global companies expect to stop supplying mobile devices, including PCs, to workers by 2016. (1) At the same time, research from the Spiceworks IT community shows dangerously high levels of exposure to eight critical mobile security threats: more than 55 percent of IT pros surveyed are defenseless against or even unaware of six of the top mobile security threats, and 68 percent do not yet have a BYOD policy in place. Maximum protection, minimum investment

Marble provides a secure environment for accessing corporate and public networks and cloud services, protecting user privacy, Web browsing, and company information. The solution uses a unique approach to mobile security that employs patented, secure virtual network services, risk-based access control, and policy-based remediation. By integrating real-time security intelligence that learns and adapts to the sophisticated new threats flooding the Internet every day, Marble thwarts attacks on mobile workers and corporate networks before damage is done.

The Marble client application is downloaded onto a device from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or an email link. From this isolated mobile environment the user accesses a secure browser and connects to Marble's own Virtual Private Network. IT administrators then manage a company's entire mobile risk posture from a centralized dashboard.

Marble's patented Mobile Perimeter Defense technology (MPD) is the security breakthrough that gives enterprise IT teams unprecedented control to protect users, even if a device is jailbroken, infected with malware, or used to browse malicious websites. The Mobile Perimeter Defense technology learns and adapts by continuously assessing a massive amount of machine data as well as mobile user and device attributes - its location, installed apps, current network connections. Marble then applies dynamic risk scores to each device that allow IT administrators, or users themselves, to identify threats in real time and instantly remediate them.

Marble protects mobile devices against advanced tactics used by cybercriminals and hostile governments to break into corporate networks and steal data or disrupt service, such as advanced persistent threats, malware, Trojans, zero day attacks, privacy leaking apps, compromised Wi-Fi hotspots, poisoned DNS, and spear phishing.

"Mobile device management (MDM) falls short of securing mobile endpoints, and is expensive and hard to manage," said Marble Security founder and CTO David Jevans. "Our mobile security approach goes beyond MDM to proactively protect a mobile worker's endpoints against cyberattacks even if they are infected with malware, something MDM solutions do not do. At $3 per user for all their devices any business can afford it, and Marble is low touch for both users and administrators." Jevans is also the chairman of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) and a leading voice in FS-ISAC, the FBI-sponsored cooperative online banking security initiative.
