Odyssey Celebrates Grand Opening of SHIPWRECK! Exhibit at Discovery Times Square on Friday, May 24


TAMPA, Fla., May 21, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc. (Nasdaq:OMEX), a pioneer in the field of deep-ocean exploration, will ring the Opening Bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. EDT to celebrate the grand opening of Odyssey's SHIPWRECK! exhibit at Discovery Times Square on Friday, May 24. A live video stream of the Opening Bell Ceremony will be viewable at www.nasdaq.com starting at 9:15 a.m. EDT.

The exhibit also features the first public display of silver bars recovered from the SS Gairsoppa, a 412-foot British cargo ship that sank in February 1941. During the summer of 2012, Odyssey recovered a record-breaking 48 tons of silver from the SS Gairsoppa. The Odyssey crew aboard the Seabed Worker is scheduled to depart this week to continue Gairsoppa silver recovery operations.
