Digital Experience of Felix Baumgartner's Jump From the Stratosphere Created and Produced by Red Bull Media House Wins Two Webby Awards

Live Digital Broadcast and Short-Form Entertainment Following the Jump Connected and Engaged Audiences Globally to the Historic Scientific Mission to the Edge of Space

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwired - May 22, 2013) - At the 17th Annual Webby Awards in New York City on May 21, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences presented Red Bull Media House with two Webby Awards in the Online Film & Video category for Red Bull Stratos including "Events & Live Webcasts" and "Branded Entertainment Short Form," which also brought in the People's Voice Award. The competition in both categories was highly esteemed including TED, NPR and the Grammys.

Produced, directed and digitally syndicated by Red Bull Media House, the Red Bull Stratos mission was delivered live on RedBullStratos.com and on The Red Bull Channel on YouTube through YouTube's live player. On October 14, 2012, Felix Baumgartner successfully became the first man to go supersonic in freefall without a vehicle. The website was the main hub for the entire journey of the project, and used interactive elements, such as the Mission Timeline, and a daily updated blog to engage audiences worldwide. On the day of the jump, RedBullStratos.com logged 22 million visits with both mobile and online users spending an average of 13 minutes on the site, and over 8 million concurrent viewers tuned into the LIVE digital broadcast.

Within hours of the jump occurring, Red Bull Media House distributed a "Mission Highlights" short-form video scored by Red Bull Records' artist, Twin Atlantic, on the project website as well on YouTube. The video won tonight for "Branded Entertainment Short Form." To date, the clip has reached over 33 million views, with 25 million of those views occurring in the first week of its distribution online.

"Red Bull Stratos" was also broadcast live on more than 80 linear TV networks including Discovery Network and Velocity in the United States. Through Red Bull Media House's network of digital partners and correspondents, over 280 established news websites embedded the LIVE player from YouTube on their sites.

This is Red Bull Media House's 19th Webby Award nomination, and second and third Webby Award wins. In 2013, the company received nine nominations including nominee and honoree recognition for its Red Bull Signature Series website in Sports and in Television. Red Bull Media House's Webby Award wins follow a National Sports Emmy Award win earlier this month for the media company's production of "Red Bull Stratos: Space Jump" on YouTube.

The Webby Awards is the Internet's most respected symbol of success. The Webby Awards ceremony will be available on demand starting May 22nd on www.youtube.com/thewebbyawards.
