Berkeley Research Group Increases London Presence

EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 6, 2013) - Global expert services and consulting firm Berkeley Research Group continues to grow its London office with the addition of Director Daniel Ryan, who will co-lead the office with Director Paul Rowe, an economist with 25 years of experience as an economic consultant.

Mr. Ryan has over 20 years of experience in valuing businesses, shares, and intellectual property assets in both contentious and non-contentious matters, including sale and purchase transactions, shareholder and post-acquisition disputes, intellectual property licensing, infringement of intellectual property rights, fiscal valuation, and transfer pricing. He is regularly appointed as an expert witness and is experienced in oral testimony. His experience covers matters in the UK High Court, before arbitral tribunals in the United Kingdom and internationally, in fiscal courts, and before the Copyright Tribunal.

Mr. Ryan joins several leading experts based in BRG's London office, including Directors Dante Quaglione and Gita Sorensen and Principal Anthony Melling.

Dr. Quaglione is an economic consultant and strategist with 20 years of experience, primarily as a senior expert with leading economic and strategy global consulting companies. He has directed complex projects on regulatory economics (both regulatory design and implementation), competition economics, strategy, finance, and company valuation. He has advised clients in a variety of network industries (e.g., telecommunications, electricity, gas, airports, and motorways) and in the banking, credit card, insurance, and IT sectors.

Ms. Sorensen specializes in electronic communications and media, with more than 23 years of experience spanning regulation/policy and commercial/strategic issues. She was deeply involved in the liberalization process in the United Kingdom, working in the UK for 11 years, holding roles including Director of Regulation and Telephony, Commercial Director, and Director of Interconnection. She has provided consultancy services to providers, governments/regulators, and investors across the world on regulatory policy and reform, interconnection and access, competition disputes and a wide range of other subjects. She has also provided expert services in regulatory and commercial disputes in the electronic communications sector.

Mr. Melling has over 20 years of natural gas and LNG industry commercial experience with leading international energy and exploration and production companies, plus 12 years of international consultancy experience. He has extensive knowledge of the international gas chain, including extensive upstream, midstream, and downstream experience. He specializes in European and global natural gas and oil pricing, market dynamics, shale gas, and industry economics.
