NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C., July 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Window World, Inc.®, America's largest replacement window and home remodeling company, volunteered their corporate aircraft July 2 to fly wounded Navy veteran Jeremiah "Doc" Harrold and his family from his hometown of North Wilkesboro, N.C. to Nantucket, Mass. to spend Independence Day with Holidays for Heroes. The flight was organized by Veterans Airlift Command (VAC), a non-profit that facilitates free travel for wounded warriors and their families for compassionate purposes. This will be Window World's 45th mission with VAC since the partnership began in 2008.

Harrold, a hospital corpsman, was wounded multiple times while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. His last injury was May of 2009, when he suffered injuries to his right leg and spinal cord, in addition to suffering a traumatic brain injury. "I do several wounded warrior trips a year," said Harrold. "This will be the first chance for my family to meet other wounded warriors and get to know them."
Holidays for Heroes is a non-profit organization that seeks to honor the services of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan through complimentary, all-inclusive vacations in Nantucket. Harrold will be traveling with his wife, mother, and five children ages 1 – 12. They will enjoy dinners, accommodations on the beach and a vacation during which they can relax and connect with other veterans and their families.
This was Window World's first mission directly from their headquarters in North Wilkesboro, so the entire Window World corporate staff, including the president, CEO and board of directors, was at the airport to provide a heartfelt sendoff for the hometown Harrold family and Navy veteran.
