SEATTLE, July 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The American Homestay Network® (AHN-USA) (www.homestaynetwork.com), the first national-scale, standards-based homestay organization in America, today announced the appointment of Glenda Sinclair as President. In this role, Sinclair will oversee AHN-USA's operational and executive management with a special emphasis on growing the organization to support ongoing national expansion through AHN-USA's Regional Agency Program. Sinclair was one of the first members of AHN-USA's executive team, previously serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology where she was instrumental in creating and deploying the company's best-in-industry homestay standards and procedures, defining and implementing AHN-USA's unique host-student management technology, and staffing company operations.
"Glenda has consistently demonstrated the operational and technical leadership needed to scale our programs while maintaining the high standards we have put in place to ensure students have a safe, welcoming, and rewarding experience in America," said Ron Davis, CEO of the American Homestay Network. "The passion she puts into ensuring a positive experience for both students and hosts is unprecedented and there is clearly no one better suited for this role."
Prior to AHN-USA, Sinclair has held a variety of positions with a unique mixture of operational and technical management across logistics, education, healthcare and high technology. Sinclair was the Vice President of Administration and Transportation Systems at T-5 Enterprises where she was responsible for all administration and technology activities for the transportation company. She has also been a Senior Project Manager for the Sonora (CA) School District's Millennial Learning Project where she focused on incorporating high technology into the classroom and the Chief Information Officer at Medalia Healthcare overseeing system development, data migration, and quality assurance/quality control testing activities.
"I'm proud of our team's progress to date on setting standards across the homestay industry and I look forward to leading our expansion to provide this unique cultural experience to more families across America," said Sinclair. "With tens of thousands of international students desiring to study in our country and live with an American family, the opportunity for our company is immense. I can't wait to get going on achieving our goals."
In June, the AHN-USA announced the launch of AHN-Georgia, the company's first Regional Agency Program (RAP) partner. The RAP allows local agencies to focus on conducting host interviews and home visits, maintaining relationships with local institutions, responding to any onsite student/host needs while providing AHN-USA Headquarters with local insights on marketing, vendors, and related industry organizations. AHN-USA's headquarter-based resources can significantly reduce a local agency's overall workload as AHN-USA manages host and student applications, homestay matching, technology systems, a national background check process, a 24x7 call center, online payments, online student and host orientation training, advertising, public relations and other related administrative services.
