Kosmos Energy Moves to Enhance Worker Safety in Emerging Exploration and Production Areas

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Jul 11, 2013) - P2 Energy Solutions today announced that Kosmos Energy Ltd., a leading oil and gas exploration and production company, will leverage P2 solutions to drive safer and more efficient operations in global markets.

Kosmos, whose primary areas of operation are underexplored regions in Africa, Europe and South America, will replace traditional paper-based systems with P2's Beyond Compliance solution to power its workplace incident tracking system and management of change (MOC) process. The Dallas-based company's switch to technology-driven operations will enable managers to quickly and more accurately document worker incidents in the event they occur and, when necessary, implement corrective procedures that continuously put safety at the forefront.

Managers at U.S. oil and gas companies credit technology for improving worker safety and production. According to Bureau of Labor statistics, there were 2.3 incidents of injury and illness per 100 oil and gas workers in 2011. That's compared with 3.5 incidents per 100 workers for the entire private sector.
