The article, entitled, "Home prices hit a 5 1/2-year high," ran in the San Diego Union-Tribune on July 17, 2013. The article can also be found online at this link. The article stated that the median price for any home sold in June in San Diego County was $416,500 according to the real estate tracker known as DataQuick. That median price represents a gain of 24 percent from June of 2012 and it represents the 10^th straight month of double-digit, year-to-year increases. 

The article reported several other pieces of information that include the fact that this $416,500 median price of a home is the highest since January of 2008. During that month, the median home price in San Diego County stood at $429,000. In addition, a total of 4,048 homes were sold in the county during June. That represents a drop of four percent when compared to May but it also represents a gain of eight percent when compared to June of 2012.
