COSTA MESA, Calif., Aug. 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It's a statistic no one wants to hear – that some 3.6 million children are abused, neglected or abandoned in America. Morgan Drexen Integrated Systems is partnering with a group that focuses on restoring hope and happiness for foster children across the country. The company has pledged to raise enough money to help Royal Family KIDS build a new campsite in Orange County, CA. Morgan Drexen is already more than a quarter of the way toward reaching its goal.

Royal Family KIDS recently invited Morgan Drexen to one of its transformational summer camps just outside San Diego. The weeklong camps, operated across the country, offer foster children the opportunity to share their feelings with experienced counselors. The kids also have the chance to make lifelong friends while enjoying fun activities such as swimming, sports, arts and crafts, hiking, reading, and much more. So what issues are these kids dealing with?
"All forms of abuse you can imagine: physical, sexual, neglect," says Chris Carmichael, Royal Family KIDS V.P. of Development. "These kids have seen the worst of the worst."
Real numbers reveal startling facts: every 6 hours, a child dies from abuse. And those who survive their childhood are more likely to become incarcerated later in life – 70% of the America's prison population is made up of former foster kids, according to the charity.
Royal Family KIDS CEO and co-founder Wayne Tesch delivered an emotional message during Morgan Drexen's visit to the camp.
