Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center Disturbed by Anti-Semitic Graffiti at Richmond Hill Golf Club

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 12, 2013) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is disturbed to learn of a new anti-Semitic incident in which a five-foot swastika was carved into the grass on a golf course in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

"On a day when Jewish communities around the world confront another instance of justice denied with the death of Nazi war criminal Laszlo Csatary, a man who lived freely in Canada and Hungary despite the horrific crimes he committed, we are truly saddened and disturbed to see the recent spate of swastikas cropping up on homes and property around the Greater Toronto Area," noted FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. "We certainly hope the York Regional Police are doing their utmost to find the perpetrator/s of this hate crime, to ensure both the Jewish and wider community understand that anti-Semitism is not acceptable or permitted in our society."
