Peter Baronoff -- August Marks 10th Anniversary for Promise Healthcare and Seven of Its Hospitals

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - Aug 14, 2013) - To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Promise Healthcare -- one of the nation's leading long-term acute care hospital companies -- will rollout a year-long celebration in its corporate headquarters and at all of its 13 Promise hospitals serving communities in six states, announced Promise Healthcare Chairman & CEO Peter R. Baronoff. Adding to the anniversary excitement, Baronoff added that Promise will be expanding in its home state in 2014 with ribbon-cuttings at two new 56,000-square-foot, 60-bed single-story facilities currently under construction: Promise Hospital of Miami-Dade: William M. Vazquez Campus in Miami Lakes and Promise Hospital of Lee in Ft. Myers.

Under the theme of "Keeping the Promise: Celebrating 10 Years of Excellence In Healthcare," plans at all Promise hospitals include visits from Promise leadership, physician and staff appreciation events, health fairs, community programming, and recognition for those who have been with Promise since its inception. Further, special milestone festivities will be held at the healthcare provider's hospital campuses that joined the Promise brand upon its acquisition in 2003: Baton Rouge Ochsner, La.; Baton Rouge Mid City, La.; Salt Lake, UT; Phoenix, Az; Miss Lou, Vidalia, La.; Shreveport, La.; and Vicksburg, Miss.

"It is a wonderful, meaningful time for the more than 2,000 executives, operations managers, physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff at Promise," noted Baronoff. "Long-term acute care hospitals play a vital role in a community's healthcare continuum, and the type of critical care we provide requires an experienced, dedicated and compassionate operations and medical team that treats the patients while empowering and comforting their caregivers. All of our team keep 'the Promise' every single day and it is so appreciated by those they work with, patients and their loved ones."

Promise hospitals specialize in high acuity long-term hospital care for patients suffering from the most complex of medical conditions. The hospital's distinctive LTAC environment provides acute medical care and aggressive therapy services for patients with unresolved, acute, or catastrophic illnesses, as well as multi-organ disease processes who require an average length of stay of 25 days or more. Promise specializes in acute respiratory/pulmonary care (including ventilator management and weaning), infectious disease management (including long-term IV antibiotics), advanced wound management, complex medical management and treatment for multi-organ failure and post-surgical complications.

Baronoff shared that at Promise hospitals critically ill patients with multi-organ conditions are afforded "the benefit of extended time" to effectively hasten recovery and achieve personalized goals. Patients can be admitted from almost any setting for most illnesses or injuries that require a longer hospital recovery period and require physical, occupational or respiratory therapies and/or complex wound care. In most cases, patients are transferred from intensive care units (ICUs), direct observation units (DOUs), general medical and surgical beds in short-term acute care (STAC) hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities or from their home or physician's office.

"Promise hospitals work collaboratively with all hospitals and healthcare providers in surrounding communities as together we forge a stronger comprehensive approach to patient continuum of care," noted Baronoff.
