SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 20, 2013) - In its latest research report titled "Storage Study: Wave 17," TheInfoPro (a service of 451 Research) identifies Panzura as having significant market lead in the Cloud Gateway Appliance (Cloud Storage Controller) category, and recognizes it as an exciting storage vendor. Cloud Gateway Appliances are seen as a Top 10 technology on enterprise customers' Storage Technology Roadmap, according to the report.
"Panzura has leapt out of the starting blocks in this segment with most deployments," said Marco Coulter, Vice President of TheInfoPro. "Our research reveals a fast emerging market with 1 of 5 enterprises considering cloud storage gateway, opening a tremendous opportunity for Panzura as other enterprises follow suit."
In surveying IT professionals, the report showed that the number of Panzura deployments equals all other brands of Cloud Gateway Appliance combined, and it also showed that the number of companies deploying or planning to deploy Cloud Gateway Appliances grew 77% between 2012 and 2013. There was also a significant increase in the number of customers who went from planning to implementation within a year, making Cloud Gateway Appliances one of the hottest segments in the storage industry.
The report mentions that the key projects and pain points for storage professionals are technology refreshes and capacity expansion, together with their associated cost. Panzura's Global Cloud Storage System eliminates these pain points by putting storage in the cloud and making it as easily accessible as NAS. Panzura will be exhibiting at the VMworld show in San Francisco, August 26-29, 2013.
