Twibfy Launches Visually Driven Platform to Inspire Creativity

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 21, 2013) - Amsterdam-based startup Twibfy today announced that it has emerged from beta testing and officially launched its new social platform designed to allow people to discover, share, submit and organize images and video to inspire creativity around the world.

The launch comes after two months of extensive testing of the beta product within the creative community in Europe. In addition to unveiling its online offering, Twibfy also announced the availability of the first version of its mobile app. Upcoming updates will include an integrated camera function with photo filters. The app is currently available in the Apple App Store and is free to registered users.

"We originally designed this technology as a means to share and create mood boards with clients in our agency business. Now, we're super excited to officially launch this technology and share it with the world," stated David Robustelli, co-founder of Twibfy. "After initial development, we quickly realized Twibfy had great potential and could have a significant impact on the way people organize and share their images and videos."

Twibfy welcomes its users, both online and mobile, with a page of curated images and videos, selected by an in-house editorial team. This allows users to immediately discover high-quality images and videos from around the world. From there, users can create their own collections as well as browse other collections to see what inspires others. Intuitive drag-and-drop functionality is designed to develop collections and share with ease. Additional functionality allows users to create collections based on color rather than simply by image or video content.

Both Robustelli and co-founder Simon Van Cleeff are currently in San Francisco following the company's "Celebrating San Francisco" party hosted last week, which marked the first time Twibfy has engaged with the U.S. market. As part of the product launch, Robustelli has been invited to give a live demo of the technology at SF New Tech this evening.

"This tool was essentially designed and built by creatives for the creative community. We see San Francisco and its design and creative community as the ideal entry point for us in the U.S. market," commented Van Cleeff. "Engaging and listening to this community has been critical in helping us graduate from a beta product. The platform's clever functionality and curated high-quality visual content truly set us apart from other similar platforms, and are a direct result of listening to our early users."

To date, Twibfy has been funded by its founders through their creative digital production agency, TYG Digital. The founders are currently in advanced discussions on initial funding, and expect to close additional investment in the fourth quarter of 2013.
