Media Advisory - Solidarity Gathering in Downtown Vancouver to Support Tahltan Opposition to Fortune Minerals

Supporters stand in solidarity against Fortune Minerals' plans to build an open-pit coal mine in the Sacred Headwaters.

Media are invited to a solidarity gathering in support of the Tahltan people and their struggle against Fortune Minerals' plans to build an open-pit coal mine in the Sacred Headwaters of Northern British Columbia.

Currently, the Tahltan have a protest camp in the Sacred Headwaters, and a group of Elders recently served an eviction notice to Fortune Minerals, informing the company that it was trespassing on Tahltan territory. So far, the company has refused to leave.

Participants of the gathering can sign cards and letters of support that will be sent to the Tahltan protest camp as an action of support and solidarity.
