TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 11, 2013) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is deeply concerned about the divisive nature of this proposed legislation and, in particular, the efforts to discriminate against minority faith groups in the province.
As a human rights organization that has just launched a new initiative (the Tour4Humanity mobile Tolerance Training Center) designed to promote tolerance and inclusivity, we cannot view this Charter as anything but an attempt to sow discord and marginalize communities across Quebec.
"The measure of a people is how it treats its weakest members," commented FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. "The greatness of Canada is its respect for ethnic and religious minorities; the elderly, the infirm and the underprivileged."
