SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - Today, Eventbrite and Automattic announced a partnership that will produce a seamless integration of their services. WordPress.com, the cloud version of WordPress and the simplest way to start web-publishing, will now offer new themes and a widget that will allow people to easily keep their website up-to-date with the latest information about their upcoming events on Eventbrite.
Before this integration, event organizers were required to install plug-ins or host their own website in order to integrate their Eventbrite events into their sites. Now, with this integration, people can seamlessly sync event information from Eventbrite to their website.
Eventbrite and Automattic partnered to build three points of integration with WordPress.com:
- Organizers of multiple or single events can now sync between Eventbrite and WordPress.com so that the changes they make are reflected on both platforms. Click here to see that theme.
- Organizers can sync multiple Eventbrite events at once, creating an events calendar and highlighting featured events in a scrolling banner on their WordPress.com page. Check out this theme here.
- A custom widget can now be easily added to pages that will sync the organizers' events to their site without making any changes to their existing theme.
"The best ideas for partnerships come from watching our community of event organizers and attendees. We noticed many organizers were going out of their way to add events to their WordPress.com sites, so we set out to make this easier for them," said Mitch Colleran, head of global partnerships at Eventbrite. "This integration makes perfect sense for Eventbrite and WordPress.com, but, most importantly, it makes sense for our customers. We're thrilled to partner with WordPress.com, a fundamental building block on the web, to make it easier for anyone to market their events online."
"Our goal is to provide WordPress.com users with features that are both seamless and easy to use. With this Eventbrite partnership, we are doing just that -- making it effortless to sync your WordPress.com site and your Eventbrite events with just a couple of clicks," said SVP of Automattic, Raanan Bar-Cohen. "We couldn't be more excited to partner with such an innovative ticketing platform, and we know our millions of users will be super happy about this new integration."
Currently, WordPress powers nearly 20% of the top 10 million websites in the world. Eventbrite is the largest self-service ticketing platform that has helped organizers process more than 130 million tickets and $1.5 billion in gross ticket sales.
