New York, NY, Sept. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MicroEdge, LLC, the leading provider of solutions to the giving community worldwide, today announced the release of FIMS 14. This latest update to the leading foundation management system delivers a number of benefits, including a more complete picture of a foundation's donors, improved reporting capabilities, and features that streamline routine processes for significant efficiency gains.
FIMS is a fully integrated, enterprise technology solution that allows community foundations, faith-based organizations and education and scholarship programs to perform grants management, financial management and donor relationship management with one centralized, comprehensive system. Nearly 85 percent of the total assets of the community foundation market are managed with FIMS, which enables foundations to dramatically reduce the time and effort involved in tracking and managing foundation information, managing pooled investments and preparing financial, donor and board reports. These time and efficiency savings are significant, adding up to six-figure savings every year.
This release delivers a spectrum of new and improved features to current clients. Organizations can now gain a better understanding of the total picture of a donor's giving. For example, donors often have multiple connections to a community foundation--they might give through a personal fund, a private foundation, through their company or employer, or perhaps a family member might make a donation on their behalf. With FIMS 14, foundations can now track all of these various types of giving back to each donor involved through the addition of "soft credits," which allows them to give donors credit for gifts that do not come directly from the donor's personal fund. This release also delivers continued advancement to the reporting capabilities in FIMS; increased searching flexibility allows users to create more complicated searches and dig deeper to find essential data more dynamically and efficiently, which allows them to analyze and report on their FIMS data in greater, more accurate detail.
FIMS 14 also provides a new upgrade wizard that lets clients upgrade their system seamlessly without having to spend significant time installing updates. The wizard provides step by step guidance and direction that allows client to move effortlessly through the update procedure without the risk of taking a wrong turn or becoming confused by the process. Additional enhancements are included to support IGAM 5.5, the latest version of the MicroEdge's online grantee portal, which enables charitable giving organizations to receive grant applications online, manage closer grantee relationships with ease, and streamline the management and reporting around the grant application process.
"Simplifying foundation administration, providing powerful reporting and helping our clients effectively manage their donor relationships are among our top priorities for our FIMS clients," says MicroEdge CEO, Preston McKenzie. "We're pleased to deliver on all three fronts with the release of FIMS 14, enabling our clients to effectively maintain the health and smooth operation of their foundation and programs."
