ASAPS Appoints Baltimore Plastic Surgeon as Traveling Lecturer

Dr. James E. Vogel Is Honored to Serve as One of the Newest Traveling Lecturers for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Share His Range of Expertise With Medical Professionals and Organizations Across the Country

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwired - Sep 25, 2013) - Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. James Vogel has a wealth of experience in medical education as an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As he begins his new position as an American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) traveling professor, Dr. Vogel is excited to expand his role as an educator in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery and to continue to share his expertise.

In a recent series of blog posts featured on his practice's website, beginning with "Who Benefits From The Educational Efforts Of ASAPS?", Dr. Vogel discusses not only what his upcoming role as traveling professor will entail, but also his beliefs on the impact of ASAPS. According to Dr. Vogel, "ASAPS plays a very important role for medical practitioners in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery because the organization serves as a forum for professionals to exchange ideas, learn from each other, publish results from their research, and help foster education across the country." However, he also notes that ASAPS is a valuable source of information for consumers and prospective patients as well. Dr. Vogel highlights that ASAPS is particularly useful for those who are in the initial stages of researching and locating a plastic surgery provider who is board-certified and who focuses on aesthetic plastic surgery treatments.

A follow-up blog post outlines some of the topics Dr. Vogel plans to lecture upon during his travels, including hair loss treatment techniques, buttock enhancement techniques, hairline lowering procedures, and CoolSculpting®, a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Though he considers his new appointment as an ASAPS traveling lecturer a great honor, he says he also understands his responsibility to adhere to the high standards set out by ASAPS in his new role as traveling lecturer.

Dr. Vogel is particularly excited to work with plastic surgery residents across the country and is humbled to be doing so with the endorsement of his peers and ASAPS. In working with residents in plastic surgery training programs, Dr. Vogel says, "I hope to provide these residents with an opportunity to hear cutting-edge information on aesthetic plastic surgery that they may not necessarily come across in the course of their everyday education."
