SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2013) - Findery, a platform for annotating the world, is available on iPhone in Australia as of today. The first offering in a global rollout, the free app makes it easy for people to leave notes and find unexpected stories and information about the world around them, wherever they are. Findery captures the character and meaning of a place, including secret and little known histories told in notes left by others.
Unlike other location services that are centered around recommendations for restaurants, bars or shopping, Findery's notes include personal stories, memories, colorful histories, previews into what's coming and other little known facts. Members can connect with others, and favorite or comment on posts, sharing their own experiences with a specific locale.

On the iPhone app, type in a location, the name of a place or a keyword and the map will go there and show you notes left by community members. These notes can include photos, videos and sound files, and can be uploaded and shared publicly. Members may also leave private notes for friends and family to find when they visit a certain spot.
Findery is a great resource for travelers as well as locals interested in learning more about their neighborhood and city. Some sample notes around the world include:
