KPMG Named a Leader in IDC MarketScapes for Both Federal and State/Local Business Consulting Practices

Positioning is Based on Market Strategies and Capabilities

WASHINGTON, Oct. 23, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KPMG LLP, U.S. the audit, tax and advisory firm, said today it has been named a leader for both its federal and state and local business consulting practices in two IDC MarketScape reports.

"This leadership positioning helps validate that our investment in talent over the past few years is paying big dividends for KPMG and for the federal, state and local government clients we serve," said Nancy Valley, who heads KPMG's government practice.

In its look at the federal sector ("IDC MarketScape: US Business Consulting Services to Federal Government 2013 Vendor Analysis", doc # 242561, August 2013), IDC evaluated 10 firms in such categories as the relevance of their portfolio of offerings, marketing strategy, ability to deliver innovation to clients and ability to integrate with the client team and to meet deadlines. IDC found that KPMG "believes governments and public service organizations need fresh ideas and new perspectives to help improve service delivery efficiencies and revenue while enhancing the quality of public services."

For its look at state and local government capabilities ("IDC MarketScape: US Business Consulting Services to State and Local Government 2013 Vendor Analysis" doc # 242546, August 2013), IDC evaluated nine vendors on the same set of criteria they used for federal. The IDC study concluded that KPMG "is seen as among the most capable at directly improving clients' overall commercial performance and at providing the necessary spectrum of business consulting services."
