ROSEMEAD, Calif., Nov. 18, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Panda Express, America's favorite Chinese restaurant, is spicing up fall with its newest premium menu item, Sriracha Shrimp. Featuring large crispy shrimp, fresh-cut string beans and sweet red bell peppers wok-tossed in a spicy Sriracha sauce, Sriracha Shrimp is now available in stores for a limited time.
Inspired by Sriracha, a popular chili sauce in Asian cuisine, Panda Express Executive Chef Andy Kao created an entrée that balances the robust and spicy sauce with crisp, sweet red bell peppers and green beans. Sriracha is made from ground sun ripened red chilies and garlic, and has gained a devoted following for its bold, tangy taste and versatility in many cuisines.
"As Panda Express celebrates our 30th Anniversary, we continue to create exciting new dishes that honor our Guests' passion for bold and adventurous flavors," said Kao. "We think loyal Guests as well as people who have never tried Panda will love the unique combination of flavors we have brought together to create Sriracha Shrimp."
Sriracha Shrimp can be enjoyed as an a la carte item or as part of a bowl/combo plate with a side dish such as fried rice, mixed veggies, chow mein or brown or white steamed rice.
