SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2013) - 2nd Watch, Inc., a global leader in building, deploying and managing Amazon Web Services™ (AWS)-based IT operations for the enterprise, today announced its integration with and support for Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudTrail -- the new user visibility and resource tracking service. Organizations can now use the recently-announced 2W Atlas visualization solution to get instant alerts when changes are made to key cloud infrastructures, such as security groups.
Announced at AWS:reinvent, 2W Atlas is a visually-based solution for IT organizations to better leverage and manage the robust features of the AWS Cloud. 2W Atlas is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application that is deeply integrated with cloud products offered by AWS, like AWS CloudTrail, and which enables IT professionals to quickly create, deploy and monitor cloud architectures.
"Amazon Web Services has become a popular public cloud platform, but as is the case with any emerging technology, it requires expertise to implement," said Wayne Pauley, senior research analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. "Consuming AWS-based cloud services is significantly different than managing traditional infrastructures and requires tools that allow IT departments to ensure governance, visualize resources in real-time, and manage costs. 2nd Watch understands this and is committed to working with enterprises to ensure successful deployments."
The integration with AWS CloudTrail allows IT administrators to log changes to AWS services and evaluate them against known cloud deployments. Normal changes are logged while critical changes are raised as alerts through the 2W Atlas product. This delivers the assurance that critical infrastructure changes are tracked and auditable.
"A critical component when migrating to the cloud is ensuring proper governance," said Kris Bliesner, CEO, 2nd Watch. "By combining 2W Atlas with AWS CloudTrail, we are giving IT departments the ability to quickly and easily visualize their deployment and monitor for changes that may threaten security. This provides peace of mind to enterprises looking to extend their cloud implementations."
