MATAWAN, N.J., Dec. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Old Bridge Spine and Wellness Center, located in Matawan, NJ, is pleased to announce that they have added two new physicians to their staff. Dr. Melissa Hreha, PT, DPT and Dr. Sangwoo Kim have joined the practice, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the existing team. Each practitioner has a different focus to share and a breadth of expertise in their respective areas.
Physical therapist Dr. Melissa Hreha has been interested in fitness and wellness her whole life. When she's not helping patients heal from injuries and physical challenges, she's enjoying the outdoors. She loves biking and hiking, but her heart always remains with her clients. "Being able to help people become pain-free with my own hands is my passion," she says. "A patient will come to me with not only severe discomfort, but also with extreme anxiety. Knowing I can make a positive difference in their physical and emotional state is something I greatly look forward to every day."
Dr. Hreha is also enthusiastic about furthering her education. "I'm excited about taking advanced Maitland courses. As a physician, I am always focused on evidence-based approaches to treatment. The Maitland philosophy is informed by mostly hands-on manual therapy, which is what I find to be the most effective form of non-invasive care for my patients."
Dr. Sangwoo Kim has been helping patients live better lives for over 15 years. An acupuncturist and herbalist, Dr. Kim is known as an extremely dedicated and caring physician who treats the whole person by blending Eastern and Western approaches to medicine. "My education at Hanyang College in Korea and then in New York at the Tri State College of Acupuncture plays a big role in shaping my practice," he says. "Acupuncture and herbs work in tandem to heal not just a person's acute physical pain, but also chronic ongoing issues."
Dr. Kim is modest about his experience and reputation. Although he was the director of acupuncture for an esteemed medical center, the only thing on his mind is his patients' wellness. "My main concern in treating my patients is bringing them into a balanced state of vibrant health and getting them to a pain-free state," he says, "It's the most fulfilling feeling you can imagine."
Dr. Peter Bufano and Dr. Arlene Kazio, co-founders of the center, are delighted with the new additions to their staff. "The doctors' combined experience is going to greatly enhance our practice," says Dr. Kazio. Dr. Bufano agrees. "We're thrilled to add both physicians to our team and give our patients a greater selection of choices for total wellness," he says.
The center provides a full range of services including massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition and physical therapy. They have morning and afternoon appointments available Monday to Friday.
