Animal Hospital in Durham Voted "Best in the Triangle 2013"

DURHAM, N.C., Dec. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Durham Magazine announced that New Hope Animal Hospital in Durham has been voted a finalist for "Best of the Triangle 2013" for animal hospitals. To select this year's "Best Of" list, Durham Magazine readers nominated local businesses and voted on their favorites. This is the second local magazine that has listed the animal hospital as a finalist for "Best Vet in the Triangle" in 2013. The readers of the Indy Magazine also voted New Hope Animal Hospital a finalist for the "Best Veterinary Hospital of the Triangle in 2013." The team at New Hope Animal Hospital says they are honored to be selected by both magazines as one of the best veterinary clinics serving the Durham and Chapel Hill communities.

Chapel Hill and Durham veterinarians Soren Windram and Christine Bush say they are pleased to have their veterinary clinic in Durham voted a finalist for "Best of the Triangle" for 2013 by both magazines. Readers of the Durham Magazine selected New Hope Animal Hospital as the best local veterinary clinic for the hospital's commitment to cutting-edge care and compassionate service. The clinic routinely receives rave reviews on its Yelp.com page as well.

"On behalf of our entire team, we are proud to receive these awards," said Dr. Windram. "Every day we strive to provide quality veterinary care and friendly and responsive customer service. As pet owners, we know just how important these animals are to each family. We are honored that families trust us to care for their pets."

Founded in 2003, the veterinary clinic services the Durham and Chapel Hill areas offering pet care services for cats and dogs by covering general wellness needs, in addition to specific service areas such as emergency care, animal dentistry and animal surgery. Drs. Windram and Bush and the entire veterinary team also stress the importance of proactive wellness care and preventative medicine.

"Routine wellness exams are an important opportunity to assess a pet's health and well-being," said Dr. Windram. "Often, pets may not exhibit the warning signs of chronic illness until they are already seriously ill. Early detection expands our treatment options and ensures that we can provide the best care possible."

The physical examinations performed by Drs. Windram and Bush include oral health examinations. Poor oral health can increase the risk for bacterial infections, gingival disease, and oral lesions.

"Animal dentistry is often an area that pet owners can easily overlook, but it is important to maintaining pet health. We provide dental cleanings and oral examinations at our animal hospital, but we also guide pet owners as to how to also care for their pets' teeth at home between veterinary visits," said Dr. Bush.
