LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 7, 2014) - CES 2014 -- iON America and High Gear Specialties, known for its Techmounts brand of mounting systems and accessories, are collaborating to develop a new series of high-impact mounts for using iON Air Pro, Speed Pro and Adventure cameras in performance motorsports. The first two camera supports in the new line of specialty mounts -- the Pro Mount System and the Mini Pro Mount -- are highly impact-resistant and durable, designed to withstand the rigors of off-road, circle track and road racing for both pros and amateurs, alike. These and other mounts in the series will be field tested in demanding on- and off-road conditions by the Lucas Oil Studios and iON camera teams.
The new mounts are being announced at CES 2014, where iON is demonstrating its complete line of point-of-view action cameras with its distribution partners Trading Unlimited (Booth #14446, Central Hall) and WYNIT (Booth #31412).
"With such diverse programming as Drag Boat Racing, Short Course Off Road Racing, Sprint Cars and Late Model Dirt Racing, it's not enough that iON cameras merely withstands intense race speed throughout our broadcasts," said Lucas Oil's Senior Producer Trevor Hocking. The top-of-the-line Techmounts Pro Mount System utilizes a 17mm quick-release ball system with interchangeable pivot arms that enable iON cameras to capture extremely creative angles. The Techmount Pro System securely attaches to roll bars, handle bars, fork tubes and even surface mounts, allowing use of iON cameras in the most extreme conditions.
Elegant, strong and highly functional, the Techmounts Pro Mounting System complements the beauty, functionality and ruggedness of the iON camera lines. It is constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum, a material commonly used in aircraft construction that is known for its structural strength and toughness and holds up well to the rigors of extreme use.
The new Techmounts Mini Pro Mount is an affordable and versatile way to attach iON cameras to motorbikes and vehicles. Constructed of the same high quality materials as the Techmount Pro Mount System, the Mini Pro Mount's simple 17mm ball-joint allows an iON camera to capture virtually any angle, and is easy to adjust, even in harsh conditions. It can be attached to a vehicle using a high-capacity suction cup, handlebar or fork tube mount.
