NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 15, 2014) - Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc., (Velocity), a leader in cloud application hosting for enterprise and business software, today announced that Aspirus , a community-directed health system based in Wausau, WI, has selected Velocity to host and manage Aspirus' enterprise resource planning (ERP) business software applications within Velocity's virtual private cloud.
Aspirus' move to Velocity Universal Cloud Services includes:
- Managed Application Services, offering application lifecycle and day-to-day application management, for Infor™ Lawson financial, payroll, and business intelligence software
- Managed Disaster Recovery, including plan design, implementation, fully-managed application recovery and annual testing for the Infor Lawson applications
- 24/7 access to experienced, technical engineers and 5/12 functional application support to help Aspirus fully leverage the capabilities of its Infor Lawson software investment
Aspirus will have transparency into its application environment via Velocity Zoom, a cloud management console that provides CIOs and their teams with unprecedented insight and control over the performance and use of their ERP, business enablement and analytic software. Velocity Zoom provides Aspirus with business process insight that enables the organization to balance cash flow throughout the month, while making it easier for Aspirus to provide auditability for financial and payroll transactions.
Velocity was chosen by Aspirus because of its ability to support the range of applications Aspirus runs, its experience managing applications and supporting compliance requirements for healthcare organizations, and the high level of business insight and control Aspirus can achieve using Velocity Zoom.
"We needed an IT services partner that has a powerful track record managing applications for healthcare organizations, and who could help us manage costs and optimize flexibility across our software portfolio to support our business units more effectively," said Todd Richardson, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Aspirus. "Velocity's services enable us to mitigate the risk associated with selecting and maintaining applications and remaining compliant with changing regulations."
"Hospitals and healthcare systems make-up a third of our customer base, and as compliance regulations and deadlines approach, we are responding to a stronger demand for more resilient IT environments that offer sound security platforms with more flexible models," said Lee Blakemore, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Velocity. "Aspirus' migration to our Universal Cloud Services will give the organization greater visibility into and control over application performance and the user experience, allowing Aspirus to make more intelligent use of its organization's data and software investment."
