Brown College of Court Reporting Voice Writing Program Now Available Online

Classes Start on Monday, April 7

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Jan 23, 2014) - Brown College of Court Reporting, a leader in the field of court reporting with a national reputation for excellence, is pleased to announce that all of the Voice Writing classes taught at its Atlanta campus are now available online. Classes start on Monday, April 7 and interested students can apply through Brown's Web site at www.bccr.edu/admissions. With Voice Writing, the court reporter speaks into a mask-like device that feeds the reporter's voice into specialized voice recognition and translation software on the reporter's laptop computer.

Students enrolled in the online Voice Writing program receive the same benefits as those in the classroom. This includes the same curriculum offered at Brown's Atlanta campus and a live audio feed of classes as they are being taught by experienced court reporting teachers. Students can also participate in discussions, ask questions, get to know their peers, and utilize the Career Services department, which can help students find externships, assist with writing resumes, and provide guidance in students job search.

"The online voice writing program is a great fit for tech-savvy students who have a high level of computer proficiency and a strong grasp of language skills, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation. Additionally, all classes are being offered in the evenings, making it convenient for those students who have to work during the day," said Marita Carey, director of Brown College of Court Reporting. "Students who graduate with a Certificate in Court Reporting can pursue careers in a variety of fields including as a court reporter or as a captioner."

Through Brown's Voice Writing program, students will learn to use Dragon Naturally Speaking and Eclipse CAT software for real-time voice writing. The online classes are delivered via Desire2Learn® Academic Suite, a collaborative education platform that engages the student and focuses on student success. Students must have high speed Internet access to partake in the online courses and have speakers to listen to class presentations.

Brown College of Court Reporting is located at 1900 Emery St., NW, Suite 200, Atlanta. For more information, please go to http://www.bccr.edu, or contact the admissions office at (800)849-0703 or admissions@browncollege.com.
