NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm, has appointed Hiran Bhadra, a ten-year veteran of the firm, to head its Mining industry group.
In his new role, Hiran will be responsible for setting the strategic priorities and growth agenda for KPMG's Mining industry group. He will drive strategy and client services, broaden KPMG relationships with senior mining executives, and serve as the lead partner on several large client engagements. Hiran is based in Dallas and succeeds Roy Hinkamper, who has assumed a Risk and Compliance leadership role in the firm's St. Louis office.

Hiran brings more than 15 years of experience both in management consulting and large mining companies in the U.S. and abroad, including South Africa, Australia, China, Indonesia, Latin America and India. Since joining KPMG in 2004, Hiran has held several leadership positions as the global lead of Operational Excellence solutions for the mining sector and as the leader of the Mining industry group in India. Hiran has led strategic planning, transformation and operations improvement initiatives for some of the largest energy and mining companies in the world.
"Mining companies are experiencing a period of dramatic change, with fluctuating demand, price volatility and rising costs," said Hiran Bhadra, national leader of KPMG's Mining industry group.
