MIAMI BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - Jan 31, 2014) - Travelers looking to experience South Beach's waves, glamorous nightlife and luxury living only need to know one name: Marriott Stanton South Beach. Formerly known as the South Beach Marriott, this stylish hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation starting in May 2013. Six months and $10-millon later, the transformation was completed in December 2013 and the renamed, redesigned property offers a chic welcome to an iconic destination.
Setting the standard for luxury hotels in Miami, the Marriott Stanton South Beach engaged Jeffrey Beers International to spearhead its renovations. The award-winning hospitality design-and-architecture firm was commissioned to overhaul the 226 guest rooms, eight suites, lobby corridors and the Concierge Lounge.
Beers' response was to look to the location of the hotel for inspiration. Accordingly, guest rooms reflect the hotel's sleek and luxurious color scheme of clean whites and soothing grays, although they also integrate warm accents of orange and brown to echo the area's fun-loving lifestyle. South Beach's culture appears in localized decorative touches as well, like built-in desks inspired by surfboards and photographs of Miami Beach that have been stylized and color-processed. Bathrooms, meanwhile, now feel more luxurious thanks to upscale finishes like glass showers and rainforest showerheads.
Guests enjoying the Concierge Lounge will notice improvements there as well. A new buffet island surrounded by sky-blue banquettes and gray lounge chairs creates a lofty feel. And to take advantage of its location on the 11th floor, the Lounge decorated its expansive terraces with inviting outdoor couches and high-top tables. Now, guests, whether there for a meeting, wedding or cocktail party, can drink in unparalleled city and beach views.
With its new, upscale-vintage aesthetic, the property stands at the forefront of other boutique hotels in Miami's South Beach neighborhood. And its new name honors the legacy of the Art Deco District. The two-story building that adjoins the hotel -- and that currently houses a Starbucks, guest rooms and meeting space -- once bore the name of Stanton.
Not only does the property stand out among other luxury Miami hotels with its new look, but its enviable SoFi address on Ocean Drive puts all of South Beach's best nightlife, shopping and attractions within walking distance. Travelers, in other words, have at last found one destination to experience all that is desirable in South Beach.
