Eating Disorder Treatment Expert Christine Pappas, PsyD, Joins Eating Recovery Center of California

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 3, 2014) - Eating Recovery Center of California, an eating disorder treatment program providing comprehensive outpatient care to adults, adolescents and families in the Northern California region, today announced that eating disorder treatment expert Christine Pappas, PsyD, has joined its clinical leadership team as Clinical Program Manager.

As Clinical Program Manager, Dr. Pappas will oversee the expansion of Eating Recovery Center of California's eating disorder treatment and recovery services into the San Francisco Bay Area. This new program, anticipated to begin accepting patients in Spring 2014, offers a comprehensive approach to treating eating disorders, including individual therapy, family, couples and group therapy and coordination of care with area providers. Pappas will also oversee a weekly support group for Bay Area patients and families, conduct assessments for prospective patients, and engage in community outreach for professionals emphasizing relapse prevention and the importance of a collaborative referral process.

Prior to joining Eating Recovery Center, Pappas served in several clinical leadership roles with a specialized eating disorder treatment center in Northern California. In those roles, she developed, launched and expanded treatment program locations; supervised multidisciplinary treatment staff (including psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, licensed therapists, and MFT interns); created and implemented an integrated treatment approach to recovery; developed community relationships with referral sources; and oversaw the intake/assessment process. Pappas also has extensive direct patient care experience as a therapist in both treatment center and private practice settings, serves as President of the Bay Area iaedp Chapter and is a Committee Member of Eating Disorder Recovery Support, Inc.
