London Air Services (LAS), one of Canada's leading corporate jet service providers, takes off this year on a high note with the purchase of five new Bombardier Learjet 75 aircraft. The newest addition to an already diverse fleet will fly up to eight business travelers. The new 75 features improved travelling range as compared to the Lear 45.
"With new cabin technology, Wi-Fi capabilities, energy-saving LED lighting, and up to four per cent in improved fuel efficiency, the new Learjet 75 is an excellent complement to our existing fleet," explains Wynne Powell, President and Chief Executive Officer, London Air Services. "Bombardier continues to build best-in-class business aircraft, and the new additions will allow London Air Services to provide optimal service to our business clients."
In celebration, LAS is committing to the future of aviation with a contribution of $75,000 for bursaries to the British Columbia Institute of Technology's (BCIT) School of Transportation's Aerospace Program, which is also Canada's largest aerospace technology school.
"We are very appreciative of London Air Services' generous bursary gift of $75,000 to BCIT's Aerospace Program," says Justin Kohlman, Vice President, Student Services at BCIT. "Financial challenges are a barrier many students face, and this gift will enable more BCIT Aerospace students to reach their destination: becoming aviation professionals in a growing industry in British Columbia and around the world."
As the aviation industry continues to grow, graduates from institutions such as BCIT are critical to meet this need.
Since its inception in 1999, LAS continues to grow and anticipate future travelling trends. It currently also has in its fleet three Bombardier Challenger 605s and three AW139 helicopters. The LAS crew ensures each passenger's needs are taken care of during its 24-hour, 7-days a week, corporate jet travel service.
