ProPhase LLC Hires Michael H. Allen, MD as Vice President of Medical Education

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2014) - ProPhase announced today that Michael H. Allen, MD has joined the company to lead medical education activities. Dr. Allen comes with deep clinical experience, a distinguished academic career, and leadership roles in several associations aimed at improving treatment paradigms for psychiatry patients.

Dr. Allen joins as vice president of medical education to continue ProPhase's recent successes in delivering highly customized solutions that support clinical trials in over 60 countries, in all phases, across 18 primary indications. Most recently at the University of Colorado, he served as the director of psychiatry for the University Hospital and as professor of psychiatry and emergency medicine. He was instrumental in developing the model Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at NYU, was a principal investigator in the NIMH Systematic Treatment Enhancement Program for Bipolar Disorder and co-investigator on the NIH Emergency Department Safety and Follow-up Evaluation study (ED SAFE). Working with organizations that provide specialty clinical services, and technologies, he developed and validated the Clinical Global Impression Scale for Schizoaffective Disorder. Dr. Allen's accomplishments have resulted in numerous accolades, including the NARSAD Independent Investigator award and recognition as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He has an esteemed resume regarding leadership roles in several key psychiatric associations and as an editor and author.
