In connection with the presentation of Jyske Bank's Annual Report 2013, Anders Dam, Jyske Bank’s CEO and Managing Director states:
"The pre-tax profit of DKK 2,301m for 2013 is a good result.
In 2013, we continued our streamlining of the group as we sold Jyske Global Asset Management, our ownership interest in the Krone Kapital group and Silkeborg Data. The last-mentioned company, which was established as a fully owned subsidiary in 1966, was sold to Axcel with a view to offering the company the best possibilities of realising its full potential. The core business was expanded through the takeover of Spar Lolland and the continuing organic growth of the client base. Fjordbank Mors is now fully integrated in the Jyske Bank Group, and it is expected that at the end of the second quarter 2014 Spar Lolland will be fully integrated. Moreover, the year 2013 saw a major restructuring of the domestic branch network with a view to strengthening focus on clients in the three segments of corporate, private and private-banking clients.
Even though the lending market for the sector as a whole is contracting, we have a somewhat optimistic view of the growth possibilities in 2014. Particularly our new mortgage products that were launched at end-2013 give rise to this optimism. To this must be added that the new organisation of Retail & Commercial Banking, Denmark will strengthen Jyske Bank's competitiveness.", concludes Anders Dam.
