Dentist in Seattle Works to Support Charities and Local Organizations

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - Mar 6, 2014) - At Innovative Dentistry, Dr. Robert Berman says he and his staff take time to give back whenever possible. For the past four years, Dr. Berman has been volunteering to assist the "Give Back a Smile" program, an American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Charitable Foundation that provides complimentary restorative and cosmetic dentistry in an effort to help survivors of domestic violence restore their confidence. Dr. Berman explains that as a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), he and many other dentists across the nation volunteer their skills and time to this organization by offering pro bono services.

This past holiday season, the Seattle dentist and his staff participated in a campaign headed by the AACD that allowed his patients to help out, as well. The staff at Innovative Dentistry offered teeth whitening products to their patients at a discounted rate as part of the promotion. When patients purchased the whitening kit, 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Give Back a Smile program. The whitening equipment and products for the fundraiser were donated by Heraeus Kulzer, a dental supply company, and Dr. Berman's staff donated their time free of charge to assist the patients who supported the campaign. Dr. Berman says his patients really enjoyed being able to contribute to a good cause while they improved the look of their smiles. He notes that the staff was also very happy to be able to donate their time for this event: "They felt more connected to the cause by actively participating, rather than just writing a check to the organization."

Dr. Berman says his cosmetic and general dentistry practice works to give back in many other ways, as well. He and his staff have worked with the James W. Ray Orion Center, a local organization that helps homeless youths in the Seattle area by providing support and education programs. The programs and housing offered by this organization help lead to a more positive, independent life for these individuals, says Dr. Berman. In the past, he says the staff at Innovative Dentistry has volunteered time at the youth center to make and serve a meal for the youths in need. More recently, the practice organized a clothing drive for the Orion Center. Dr. Berman notes that local businesses and other members of the community were able to contribute by donating clothing for the center.

Dr. Berman says he and the staff at Innovative Dentistry intend to continue to seek out opportunities to give back to those in need, and are always happy to volunteer their time and efforts towards a good cause.
