INDIANAPOLIS, March 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Inner-city, at-risk high school seniors at Christel House Academy South (CHAS) will have additional support for their university aspirations, thanks to a generous grant from USA Funds. The nonprofit awarded a $10,000 grant to CHAS to support activities such as college visits, SAT and ACT prep, college application completion assistance and "Freshman Survival Kits." These kits consist of a suitcase, bedding and other necessary supplies that will help students to be successful away from home.
In order to earn a high school diploma at CHAS, it is mandatory for every senior to have a college acceptance letter in hand. Every senior is encouraged to apply to at least three colleges/universities – a "dream" school, a "reality" school and a back-up.
