BEIJING, March 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (China Content Broadcasting Network Exhibition – Hall: 3; Booth #3301) – Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today its field-proven MoCA® (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) solutions are being adopted by leading cable triple-play original equipment manufacturer (OEM), BigWhite Network, to enable MSOs to deliver more robust and cost-effective connectivity to support new revenue-generating advanced video services.
Currently in the China Pay-TV market there is a movement by leading MSOs to offer more advanced IP-based services supported by a server and client architecture. MSOs require a high performance and reliable home networking solution to transmit both broadcast CATV and IP-based services over the same coaxial cable in the home. To support this server and client distribution model, BigWhite Network will offer a new MoCA-based device to transmit High Definition (HD) content from the server to the client device.
