China OEMs Adopt Entropic's c.LINK 1.1+ Broadband Access Ethernet-over-Coax Solution

Entropic's c.LINK 1.1+, Featuring 800Mbps of Aggregated Throughput, Enables Chinese MSOs to Meet Rising Bandwidth Demand From IP-Based Triple-Play Services

BEIJING, March 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (China Content Broadcasting Network ExhibitionHall: 3; Booth #3301) - Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home, announced today broad acceptance of its c.LINK™ 1.1+ Broadband Access Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC) solution by three major broadband access original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Interest in c.LINK 1.1+ continues to gain momentum as Chinese MSOs require higher-speed broadband to support advanced triple-play and multiscreen services.

Entropic's c.LINK 1.1+ is comprised of the EN3681 Network Controller (NC) and the EN3690 Customer Premise Equipment (CPE). The solution delivers the industry's highest performance, highest density EoC solution in the smallest form factor. The technology employs the first-ever multiple-channel solution, delivers up to 800 Mbps of aggregated throughput and operates across a wide frequency range, making it easy to co-exist with Low RF and other High RF solutions. The c.LINK 1.1+ solution is also backward compatible with Entropic's c.LINK 1.1 install base, protecting MSOs' investments and providing an upgrade path over their existing services.

"The adoption of c.LINK 1.1+ continues to gain traction as Chinese MSOs look to establish a high-speed infrastructure and IP migration path that incorporates bidirectional transformation and a need for increased access to cloud-based services," said Roger Gregory, vice president, Marketing, Entropic. "To meet requirements set forth by the NGB initiative, OEMs and MSOs are looking to c.LINK 1.1+ to provide a reliable, high-speed broadband access solution."
