The 2014 report analyzed the 17 vendors with the industry's strongest collaborative BI capabilities, as reported by users. The vendors were ranked based on their complete core and extended collaborative offerings, which included annotation features, collaboration via mobile devices, and the ability to review key processes. In addition to ranking leading vendors, the third annual Wisdom of Crowds Collaborative BI Market Study also analyzed the state of the collaborative BI market via data collected from 882 users across a range of industries and geographies. The study found that 60 percent of respondents consider collaborative capabilities to be "important," "very important," or "critical." In fact, in this year's report respondents prioritized collaborative BI ahead of functions such as big data and social media analytics. From a sector perspective, the technology, financial services, and healthcare industries ranked collaborative BI higher than other verticals.
