LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - Today at SpiceWorld London, Spiceworks introduced a free, real-time network monitoring application for IT professionals looking for an at-a-glance view of the health and status of their server and networking devices. The introduction of Spiceworks Network Monitor complements its existing network inventory, help desk, and mobile device management applications and provides new monitoring capabilities millions of IT professionals can use to do their jobs more effectively.
"A real-time network monitoring application is a natural extension of the Spiceworks platform and an important capability our users have asked us to build," said Scott Abel, co-founder and CEO of Spiceworks. "Like our other applications, we've focused on building a monitoring solution that's easy to install and use while also providing the information IT professionals need to do their jobs -- for free. We'll continue to expand the platform with Spiceworks and third-party applications that add value to an IT professional's day and help them work more efficiently."
Spiceworks Network Monitor provides a real-time, graphical view of network utilization plus server activity including disk and CPU usage, system memory, active processes and services, and other critical infrastructure information. The application also provides real-time alerting for more than 10 server and network conditions as well as the ability for IT professionals to address potential issues through a remote desktop connection. Spiceworks Network Monitor runs on a Microsoft Windows-based server and can be installed and set up in as little as 10 minutes.
"I've used Spiceworks for years and am excited to take advantage of a new application that will allow us to monitor our IT environment in real-time -- for free," said Dan Reynolds, senior systems administrator at BLDD Architects. "We've desperately needed an affordable, real-time monitoring solution to keep tabs on our environment. Once again, Spiceworks has delivered."
