MacAulay-Brown, Inc. Welcomes Former Commander of Army Cyber Command Lieutenant General Rhett Hernandez to its Board of Advisors

DAYTON, Ohio, May 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company delivering advanced engineering services and product solutions to Defense, Intelligence, Special Operations Forces, Homeland Security and Federal agencies, announced today that former Commander of Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), Lieutenant General (Ret.) Rhett Hernandez has joined the company's Board of Advisors.

As a strategic advisor to MacB, General Hernandez will provide his considerable insight and expertise on Cybersecurity issues to the company's leadership team. In addition, he will become an integral part in helping MacB strengthen its already considerable offensive and defensive Cybersecurity capabilities to meet current and future needs of ARCYBER, as well as the broader Cyber community.

"After more than 39 years of active duty service, I'm excited about the opportunity to continue to serve my former colleagues in the armed services, as well as the Nation, to address the number one threat to National Security - cyberspace," said Hernandez. "As I developed a relationship with the professional, senior leadership team at MacB, I came to realize that we shared a similar dedication to Cyber operations and National Security. I look forward to providing my insights and expertise to increase U.S. Cyber-readiness."

General Hernandez joins an already robust MacB Board of Advisors that includes former Ambassador and Director of the Center for Special Operations, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dell Dailey; former Deputy Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Joanne Isham; and former Commanding General of the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), Major General (Ret.) Gerard Brohm.

"It is an absolute honor to welcome a person of Rhett's caliber to the team," said Sid Fuchs, President and CEO of MacB. "His service to the country, his background and expertise in the Cyber community will be invaluable to our customers, employees and the senior management team."

On November 1, 2013, General Hernandez retired from the United States Army after serving 39 distinguished years in service to his country. His final active duty assignment was as the Commander of Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER). As the ARCYBER's first commander, he stood up a cyber-force that eventually totaled more than 17,000 personnel and led the development of transformational concepts, plans and programs to increase the Army's ability to conduct Land and Cyber operations. In addition, he was responsible for the Army's full-spectrum Information Operations (IO) organization, which provides IO theory development and training to operational application across military operations. Prior to ARCYBER, General Hernandez served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Army Operations, Chief, U.S. Military Training Mission, Saudi Arabia and Commanding General, Human Resources Command. In all three positions he was involved in key issues and decisions at the highest levels. General Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point, a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters of National Security Strategy from the National War College where he was named a distinguished graduate.
