LONG BEACH, Calif., May 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Queen Mary will celebrate the spirit of Barbados, May 22, as Mount Gay's Rum Dinner features Barbados' Finest Rums paired with a five course Caribbean-inspired feast.
Passed Hors d'oeuvres - smoked duck with cranberry mousse, jerk-chicken with fig kabob and more - will precede entree selections that showcase the diversity of Island cuisine and paired rum flavors. A Barbadian spice and lobster ceviche will combine with Mount Gay Silver; while roasted Kurobuta pork tenderloin with spiced apples partners with Mount Gay Eclipse. Each course will introduce guests to a greater rum experience. The third course of smoked peppered rib eye and plantain hash blends perfectly with Mount Gay Extra Old Cask. Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selection rum will complete the evening.
While the Queen's Salon will transport guests to Barbados by way of video footage and island music, the Caribbean Spirit Dinner will culminate on the Queen Mary's historic sun deck with La Gloria Cubana Cigars accompanied by Queen Mary's exclusive proprietary Black Barrel Small Batch Rum.
Limited seating and reservations are required. Tickets are $130 per person, parking included. For information visit: http://www.queenmary.com/dining/barrel_series.php or call 877-342-0738.
