St. Paul Surgeons to Join HealthEast

ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwired - May 29, 2014) - HealthEast is pleased to announce a new era in surgical care at our hospitals, clinics and outpatient surgical facilities. Beginning July 1, the following surgeons of St. Paul Surgeons, Ltd. will be joining HealthEast to advance the surgical treatment of our population.

The surgeons include: Peter Kelly, MD; Jim McGreevy, MD; Diane (DeeDee) Ogren, MD; Kyle Wahlstrom, MD and Peter Wilton, MD. This arrangement will allow HealthEast to capitalize on an opportunity to lead the Twin Cities in surgical care and expertise.

From a clinical quality and patient care perspective we couldn't be more proud to have these individuals join HealthEast. Each surgeon is well respected in the community and brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the organization. As active members of the HealthEast Medical Staff, this group has been a reliable and engaged partner for many decades. They will continue to offer their expertise in general, vascular, thoracic, endocrine, bariatric, advanced laparoscopic, colon and breast surgery. 

We believe this partnership will advance HealthEast's commitment to our population health strategy with relationships that strengthen, broaden and create synergy within the outpatient and specialty care for the communities we serve.

The group will continue to see patients at their office on the St. John's campus. They will be moving their Bariatric Program from United Hospital to the St. Joseph's Bariatric Center, where they will also be seeing general surgery patients. Future plans are in the works for a clinic on the Woodwinds campus as well. The team will be supported by Jennifer Miller, Service Line Administrator, Surgical Services and will report up through the Population Health and Ambulatory Services (PHAS) business unit.

We are excited about this new venture and our ability to grow a robust and regionally recognized Surgery Department.
