"When Mommy and Daddy Say No, They Still Love You" by Nancy Ennis
This veteran preschool director's book shares the message that parents always have their children's best interest at heart even when saying "no."
Just released "ABC's in Action" by Sharon Crocilla, a retired art teacher who spent thirty years with the Palm Beach County, Florida School District, is an educational book that includes vocabulary building, alliteration sequence, and object identification. It can be enjoyed as a picture book or an interesting read, and it is fun for a parent and child to read together.
Crocilla's combines original art work and verse to teach young readers about nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs for each letter of the alphabet. All of the action revolves around oversized letters set in similar backgrounds where young readers are challenged to match the image described with the prose that accompanies it. The book's playful sense of humor comes alive in both the illustrations and the verses, which are intended to make learning the alphabet easy, interesting, and fun for children of all ages. It also helps children connect the concept of letters and sounds.
A labor of love, it was the birth of Crocilla's first granddaughter that inspired her to write and illustrate a special children's book just for her. It turned into a year-long project with a big payoff––her granddaughter loves "ABC's in Action" and wants to read it over and over again, while her newborn grandson provides further inspiration for her to share her love of art and literature with others.
