NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2014) - eSentire, Inc., the leader in Active Threat Protection solutions and managed security services, today announced Deborah Prutzman, CEO at The Regulatory Fundamentals Group (RFG), has joined the eSentire board of advisers. Prutzman joins recently retired CIA Chief Technology Officer, Gus Hunt; National Security Corporation President, G. Mark Hardy; and respected pharmaceutical and biosciences industry executive Teresa Winslow, on the advisory board. She will provide guidance, introductions and counsel as eSentire expands its strong footprint in the financial services industry.
eSentire today protects over $1.3 trillion in combined AuM, and is the leading security service provider to Registered Investment Advisor firms (RIA) and asset management funds. In total, eSentire secures approximately 350 RIAs, of which 90 percent are domiciled in the United States.
"We extend a warm welcome to Deborah and look forward to counting on her unparalleled financial services industry experience," said eSentire CEO J. Paul Haynes. "No stranger to anyone at eSentire, we have worked closely with Deborah and her team at RFG to prepare, educate and empower U.S. fund managers ahead of SEC-mandated cybersecurity examinations this fall."
Prutzman's stellar track record, with domestic and international financial services industry experience, includes an emphasis on regulatory risk management, corporate governance and project management. She has earned a reputation for helping financial institutions thrive despite difficult business circumstances and changing regulatory requirements. At RFG, Prutzman leads a team of highly skilled personnel with expertise in the financial services regulatory environment, pioneering creative and insightful business solutions for funds, advisers and investors in the alternative investment space. RFG is advising leading non-profits about how to include cyber-security considerations in their operational due diligence efforts.
Prior to founding RFG, Prutzman served in senior leadership positions at international financial services firms where her team was responsible for the legal issues associated with major strategic initiatives. These positions included serving as General Counsel to the Merrill Lynch Global Bank Group and to CLS Services, the world's foreign exchange netting system during its start-up stages. At CLS, in the absence of precedent, she developed rules and contracts that satisfied the laws and regulations of 13 jurisdictions and allowed 63 of the world's largest financial institutions to clear foreign exchange transactions on a real-time, continuously linked basis. The structure she established withstood the test of time by continuing to function throughout the mid-2000s. Earlier in her career, Prutzman was General Counsel for the New York Clearing House Association, where she was instrumental in the drafting of Article 4A of the Uniform Commercial Code, the law that governs electronic funds transfers in the United States.
Prutzman has been a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Arnold & Porter, where she specialized in lending transactions (including securitizations); acquisitions; electronic payments, clearing and settlement; and bank regulatory issues.
She earned her law degree from Columbia University where she was an editor of the Columbia Law Review.
