PALO ALTO, CALIF. and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2014) - MongoDB, the database for modern applications, today announced that its partner program has grown to more than 500 technology and services partners worldwide, extending the company's lead as the fastest-growing Big Data ecosystem.
Demand for MongoDB is strong and growing quickly in response to an explosion of unstructured data, which today makes up 80 percent of all information created and used by enterprises, and is growing at twice the rate of unstructured data. Enterprises increasingly realize the need to look beyond relational databases to a more flexible, scalable, modern database such as MongoDB to address their changing data needs. Enterprises that have invested heavily in Business Intelligence, Systems Management, Security or other software need to know these investments will be preserved as they shift to a modern database. They also must be able to tap into expert advisors who can architect and implement MongoDB-based solutions.
Since the MongoDB Partner Program's launch in 2013, the world's biggest technology companies and cloud platforms have developed support for MongoDB, including Amazon Web Services, HCL, IBM, Infusion and Red Hat. In 2014, MongoDB forged new collaborations with technology industry titans and rising stars, including Cloudera, Google, HortonWorks, Microstrategy and Pure Storage.
Today, the company also announces MongoDB Certified, a formal partner certification program that addresses the widespread customer demand for high-quality MongoDB integrations and qualified consulting expertise, ensuring technology and services companies know how to architect their solutions with MongoDB. Certifications will be tied to MongoDB Enterprise.
"Our strength has always come from our vibrant communities -- from the developers who have embraced MongoDB to our growing partner ecosystem that is enabling the MongoDB adoption in enterprises worldwide," said Max Schireson, CEO of MongoDB. "The MongoDB certification program is the natural evolution of our business and empowers partners to become experts at designing their solutions with MongoDB in mind."
To keep pace with global demand for MongoDB, the company has augmented its channel and partner strategy leadership team. Vijay Vijayasankar recently joined the company as Vice President of Global Channels and Business Development. Drawing on his previous Big Data engineering and consulting roles at SAP and IBM, Vijayasankar will continue to grow the channel and business development team by providing partners with enhanced support to build new business around MongoDB. Peter Goldmacher, former research analyst at Cowen & Company, has also joined MongoDB as Senior Director of Corporate Strategy.
Many partners and more than 1,000 community members will be on-site at MongoDB's inaugural global event, MongoDB World, in New York City on June 23-25. For more information on attending or exhibiting at the show, please visit https://world.mongodb.com/.
