CEDAR RAPIDS, IA--(Marketwired - Jun 24, 2014) - ETM, developer of UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting, which is officially endorsed by the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA)* -- and Wings Plus for statutory financial reporting and tax compliance -- has hired Kathleen Shemwell to administer the company's rapidly growing unclaimed property reporting and escheat services business. Shemwell joins ETM from Transamerica Life, where she spent more than ten years working in unclaimed property administration.
"We seem to be fortunate enough to find the right people at the right time," said Layton Olson, ETM's CEO. "We found Kathleen at the point at which our reporting software -- UPExchange -- was creating increasing demand from our growing number of customers for related services. Kathleen's experience and expertise is perfect to help fulfill that demand."
At Transamerica, Shemwell was responsible for keeping the company in compliance with unclaimed property laws, due diligence requirements, and reporting to the required states. Before starting at Transamerica in 2005, Shemwell worked at Aegon -- which provides insurance, pensions, and asset management to clients in more than 25 countries -- for six years. She held a number of positions, including FMG Disbursements Representative, Complex Function Specialist, and, finally, Senior Accounting Associate.
