MANCHESTER, NH--(Marketwired - Jun 26, 2014) - Newforma, a project information management (PIM) software company integrating people, projects and processes to transform building and infrastructure project delivery, today announced customer validation of the added value created by integration with Bentley collaboration software for distributed project design and construction teams. Specifically, Newforma® Project Center functions such as search, markup, and email management are being applied to documents stored within Bentley® ProjectWise® software. Importantly, all project documents, wherever they reside on the company's network, including those saved in ProjectWise, may be searched and accessed via a single window, the Newforma Project Files activity center.
Behind the scenes, Newforma servers index the contents of the ProjectWise system, adding its files to Newforma Search results. As a result, with one sortable, filterable search, Newforma users can see all files that contain their search terms, whether those files reside in ProjectWise, in email or email attachments, or in other files or folders saved anywhere on the company's network of servers, including servers in different offices.
RS&H Technical Services Manager David Brazet, P.E., LEED AP, M.C.S.E., after using the Newforma Project Center-ProjectWise integration on live projects, reports that it further streamlines workflows for the architecture, engineering and consulting firm. "Our ProjectWise power users are happy that the Newforma integration makes it easier to file email with other ProjectWise-managed documents," Brazet said. "And our Newforma users are happy that we've expanded the scope of project documents that we can access and manage using Newforma Project Center. The Newforma-ProjectWise integration combines the best of both worlds. For example, users do not have to leave the Newforma interface to check files into and out of ProjectWise. This integration provides users with the convenience of not having to switch back and forth between software products. For more advanced ProjectWise functionality, users can still use the ProjectWise interface."
Newforma Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Development David Plunkett said the Newforma Project Center-ProjectWise integration works to the benefit of joint customers. "Bentley ProjectWise solves the multi-office information sharing problem and brings rigor and discipline to work processes that can spin out of control otherwise," Plunkett said. "Newforma Project Center is perhaps most notable for removing impediments to productivity. When you combine the two, you get the risk mitigation and consistent workflows of ProjectWise with the friction-reducing efficiencies of Newforma Project Center."
