Christmas at the Galt House Hotel is completely transformed for its fifth anniversary year, and this new event will stimulate all the senses when it opens on November 15, 2014 in Louisville, KY. The 47-day event invites guests to go back in time and experience larger-than-life lighted luminaries that tell the story of A Christmas Carol, meet the Snow Fairy Princess, and see the delight in the faces of the children riding the Peppermint Express Train. Also new for 2014 is the Pam Tillis and Friends: A Kentucky Christmas Dinner Show. The two-time Grammy Award Winner will perform a custom holiday dinner show that will enchant all ages. A KaLightoscope Christmas Carol

Guests will be charmed by the magical interactions with luminaries, performers, and 3D projection. 130 all new, larger-than-life lighted luminaries, made with silk wrapped around new LED lighting, tell the story of A Christmas Carol. This is sure to entice and entertain guests of all ages with beautiful lights, colors, smells, and sounds as the classic holiday story is told through an ancient Chinese art form. Custom designed props, mechanization and sound enhances the storyline and separates this event from other light and luminary shows throughout the world.

The experience continues as guests move into the English village. They'll pass storefronts with nostalgic holiday windows featuring new animated characters portraying holiday scenes. Then, guests will be welcomed into an English lodge with a complimentary warm beverage. The lodge provides a stage for special holiday-themed performances of song and dance throughout the day. As they explore the village, kids will have an opportunity to mail their letters to Santa at the new post office, among other activities.

A perennial favorite, the Snow Fairy Princess is back with a greatly enhanced castle. Inside her castle, you'll find an activity for all ages-Make a Flake. It is here that guests can learn the art of crafting intricate snowflakes with birds, dogs, stars, trees, and so much more inside. Mr. Sugar Pine, the Talking Tree, greets guests as they exit the Snow Fairy Castle and make their way to the green screen experience. Guests will receive the video of their family inside Santa's sleigh in their email and can share it on social media.

The fifth anniversary of Christmas at the Galt House Hotel also brings more whimsical activities for families. This includes creating your own snowman-inside! Guests can build, dress, and decorate their own snowman and take pictures with him! Then, they can move into the snow play area and enjoy the white stuff without having to go outside in the cold. Next up is the Peppermint Express Kiddie Train Ride. Pam Tillis & Friends: A Kentucky Christmas Dinner Show

Country Music superstar singer and songwriter Pam Tillis ushers in a new era of Christmas at the Galt House Hotel. She stars in the new Pam Tillis & Friends: A Kentucky Christmas Dinner Show. Tillis' beautiful voice will inspire holiday cheer in guests as she sings traditional Christmas songs, as well as some of her favorites. The CMA Female Vocalist of the Year winner will perform in this new holiday dinner show November 15 through December 14, 2014.

Other Events and Activities at Christmas at the Galt House Hotel

Other activities include Christmas Tea with the Snow Fairy Princess and Breakfast with Santa. These events are incredibly popular with families and continue to grow each year. The Snow Fairy Princess spends time with each child at her tea, while they indulge in cookies and cakes, tea and juices. Breakfast with Santa includes face painting and DJ and dance floor, as well as a visit with Santa himself. Tickets for both events include a ticket to The Christmas Village Experience. A favorite of hotel guests and community members alike, the Dancing Toy Soldier Bellmen will be back to show off their new dance moves. The bellmen will perform the Countdown to Christmas Dance nightly from November 28 through December 24. They must perform every night at five to keep Santa and his elves on track making their presents so the Jolly Old Elf can deliver them to all the good little boys and girls on Christmas Eve.

Santa also returns to Christmas at the Galt House Hotel as the hotel's gift to the community. Families are invited to visit Santa and take their own photos of their children with him at no cost.
