June Sales Record at Volkswagen Canada

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 2, 2014) - June sales at Volkswagen Canada established a new all-time record for the month. A total of 6,226 new cars and light trucks were sold through the company's 136 dealers. This represented an 11% increase over the previous record, which was set in 2013. Year-to-date, 30,616 new Volkswagens have been delivered.

Dealers have just started to receive the all-new, 7^th generation Golf. The latest version of the bestselling hatchback was previously named the 2013 "World Car of the Year" by a panel of international journalists, and is now available in Canada.

Powered by an all-new, 1.8 litre direct-injected turbocharged engine, the Golf combines world-class driving dynamics with outstanding efficiency and top-rated crashworthiness to deliver an excellent value equation.

The all-new 5 door Golf will be joined by a 3 door variant later this summer. A TDI Clean Diesel engine will also be added to the lineup in September. The Golf sets a new benchmark when it comes to comfort and refinement in the hatchback class.
